English Language Teaching Certificate
The English Language Teaching Certificate program in the College of Education and Human Development provides students with the skills to teach English to adult learners, international students and English language learners abroad. This program is ideal for those who want to develop a solid foundation for teaching English to non-native speakers and can serve as a critical pathway to the master’s program in Teaching English to Speakers of English in Other Languages (TESOL).
You must complete 12 credit hours (four courses) in order to earn this certificate. Topics covered in the curriculum include
- English phonology,
- key principles of language teaching, and
- standards of curriculum design.
All courses are delivered in the classroom on Temple’s Main Campus in Philadelphia. You can enroll part- or full-time and have up to two years to complete the certificate program.
